Introducing Baking Classes At Artisan Bakers

Artisan Bakers of Sonoma celebrates its 14th anniversary in 2006. Since opening its doors in 1992, the bakery has continued to develop and produce the finest breads and pastries in the Bay area. During these years, Artisan Bakers has been awarded many top prizes for its baked goods, including several Best in Show awards at the Sonoma County Harvest. Fair. Craig has spent much time training all of the bakers to uphold Artisan Bakers quality standards. Craig’s teaching team shares his same passion for baking and will share their passions with all participants of the baking classes.

Founder Craig Ponsford graduated from the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco with top honors, the worked in some of the Bay Area’s best bread bakeries. Craig’s breads won the Gold Medal in Paris when he competed with the Bread Bakers Guild Team USA in the prestigious Coupe du Monde de la Boulangerie in 1996. He then went on to coach the US Team to victory in 1999. He also served as U.S. judge at the 2002 and 2005 Coupe du Monde. 

$35.00 a person per class;
All classes are 2-hours from 10am to 12noon

Bread Class:
Mixing, shaping and baking of Craig’s famous water bread, and a full tour of the bakery with a Q & A session. Everyone will receive bread to take home & a recipe.

Pizza Class:
Mixing, shaping, topping and baking of Artisan style pizza. Eating of pizza. Full bakery tour with Q & A session. Everyone will receive a bag of pizza dough to take home with them.
June 18th & August 6th

Pie Class:
Mixing and shaping of crust. Making of fillings and putting together of whole pie. Full bakery tour with Q & A session. Everyone will receive a cutie pie and a recipe.
June 4th & July 30th

Cupcake/Cookie Class:
Mixing, shaping and decorating of cupcakes or cookies. Full bakery tour with Q & A session. Everyone will receive cookies or cupcakes and a recipe. Very kid friendly!!
