Artisan Bakers is a well-established company specializing in the production of hancrafted, high quality breads and pastries. The bakery enjoys world wide recognition through its founder, Craig Ponsford, winner of the French and Specialty Breads category of France’s 1996 Coupe du Monde de la Boulabngerie.

We have a retail operation in the town of Sonoma and have wide distribution in the greater Bay Area. Our production facilities operate seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. Our retail store is open seven days a week as well, opening early enough for commuters to grab breakfast and late enough for our customers to buy fresh bread on their way home from work.

We always accept applications for retail, production, and delivery staff. We look for people who demonstrate a willingness to learn, are oriented toward teamwork, and who show pride in producing or selling hand made products of exceptional quality. Bread & Pastry Production
Recognized locally, nationally, and internationally as a producer of fine artisinal breads and pastries, we are looking for people to join our production teams. Full time employees receive medical and vacation benefits after six months. Experience is helpful but we will train highly motivated people. Production departments run on a twenty-four hour schedule, so shifts vary.

Delivery
Delivery personnel make timed deliveries to grocery stores, cafes, coffee shops, and restaurants. Duties include some loading of product, monitoring cleanliness and condition of store displays, and driving 100+ miles per day throughout the Bay Area.

Retail
We operate a busy retail outlet in Sonoma. Shifts run between 5:30 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. Retail personnel are responsible for providing prompt, friendly service in an attractive, clean, and welcoming environment. Duties include: describing and selling bread, pastry, and desserts; making coffee and espresso drinks, preparing bags for wholesale deliveries, and cleaning the retail area.

Maintenance
We maintain a busy facility that needs constant attention. Clean facilities and clean equipment are major components of our concept of customer service. Duties include washing baking pans and dishes, preparing equipment and vehicles for deliveries, and cleaning production and retail areas.
